Thankful for all the sweet little moments I’ve gotten to see this Thanksgiving.
Wedding Eve for @madisonvanderwell ✨💗💍
He gingerly picks up a leaf and shows it to me. He runs his fingers across the tree bark and wipes bits of green moss on my lips. He jumps up and down in a puddle shouting something incoherent. He points at every bird in the sky and insists that I acknowledge each one, too. He sees a giant log and goes, “ooooooh whats that?”. We climb on top and throw our legs over the other side. He grabs my hands and swings them as he sings a bit of a song I don’t recognise. Getting to see him discover the world and notice every tiny thing is straight up magical.

No baby gives a shit about ⠀ What their clothes look like.⠀ What is on your registry.⠀ How their nursery is decorated.⠀ Or the Swedish style crib you debated.⠀ ⠀ Not. A. Single. Shit. ⠀ What brand of buggy you have. ⠀ Which pattern they’re swaddled in.⠀ If their baby food is canned.⠀ Or whether their toys are second hand.⠀ ⠀ If you have the time and cash then by all means, go ahead. Swipe that card and have a ball. ⠀ ⠀ But if you’re broke or can’t be bothered at all, please remember there is no pressure because—⠀ ⠀ No baby gives a shit ⠀ About your ugly rocking chair.⠀ The walls that are bare.⠀ The fact you don’t have a bedroom to spare.⠀ Or how many outfits they have to wear.⠀ ⠀ #ccfreewrite #ccpoemsandprayers
